Miss Preston (and Miss England) Has Set Off For Miss World
Our wonderful reigning Miss England, and Miss Preston, Elizabeth Grant has said goodbye England to fly over to the States – where she will compete in the 65th annual Miss World competition.
It’s the oldest surviving international pageant in the world, after it was created in 1951 by Eirc Morley, right here in the United Kingdom. Since Morley’s death in 2000, it has been taken over by his widow Julia Morley who has made the competition her own.
Miss England 2014 Carina Tyrell has been the highest ranking Miss England’s we’ve seen in decades, managing to make it to top five – so we’re all crossing out fingers and hoping that Elizabeth might bring home that crown!
She flew from Heathrow to Washington DC with her fellow United Kingdom, Miss Wales Ffion Moyle and they were treated to some champagne and ice lollies on the plane!
If you would make a great Miss Preston, make sure to apply here!
