Miss Southport Final, my first event as Miss Preston
I had better start this off the best way that I can then, by congratulating our amazing Chloe Brown who is now Miss Southport!
This final was a different experience for me then it would be for the other Miss’ as it was my first once since I was crowned, now being new at all these heats I’m still new at all the roles of being a Miss and being involved in other competitions to find new Misses.
I was proudly behind stage whenever I could to see the girls and to find out how they are loving the heats and pageants! I got a few chats in with the girls and they were so excited!! (As they should be!)
Unfortunately I didn’t actually get chance to speak to Chloe but the other girls when they were getting ready for their other wears, I could feel the bond between them all. They hadn’t known one another more than 24 hours but they were helping style hair, and choose accessories and it was all so heartfelt!
It definitely brought it all home to me, due to the fact that only less than two months ago I was in that same situation with my girls I competed with. Precious moments are made in those changing rooms, something I’ll never forget.
Myself, Miss Lancashire, Junior Miss Preston, Junior Miss Fylde Coast all got to present the Miss Eco, Charity, Popularity, Publicity and Personality! Miss North West had the incredible role of crowning our new Miss Southport, to say that she was ecstatic is an understatement, hahaha! She was flapping behind the scenes but you wouldn’t have guessed it because she was so calm and collected on stage (GWAN CHRISTINA <3)
When it came round to announcing the finals, Elli and I ran round the back to the other sides and stood with the girls waiting and the tension… was heavy. All us girls held hands together and awaited Mark to announce 3rd, 2nd and 1st. (The tension kinda broke when my heel got caught in some hole in the ground causing me to almost deck it, it put a smile on the girls faces which is always a plus, haha!)
As quite a large amount of the Team North were there including our favourite photographer Andy Bristow, we had to have our own little photoshoot as it so happens and even in our dressing rooms. It was great fun, I felt like royalty with my crown and posing in the Atkinson’s stunning gallery! I’m not camera shy when it comes to smiling and selfies, ohhhhhhh I love a good selfie and the Junior/Miss dressing room was definitely one for taking pictures!
I seriously cannot wait to attend the next one, which is Miss Bolton and Bury. I want to be fully involved in anything with Team North West, there is never not a dull moment. Always something to do, always a way you can help someone, and even when the dreaded time comes and I have to relinquish this crown, (to someone even more deserving than myself to represent Miss Preston) I’ll forever be involved in Team North.
This is the start of something new (insert High School Musical 1) but this is what I want. And I’m going to make a difference.
Keep up with our pages and blogs lad and lasses,
Much Love Kiddas,
From your Miss Preston 2016 x x x
