Junior Miss Preston in the mud for Cancer Research
Hello guys and gals… It’s me again!! ?
We’re going allllll the way back to the 18th of June!! (Seems like a real long time ago?)
Anyway, two Saturday’s ago (I think) I was asked to volunteer at the Pretty Muddy event in aid of Cancer Research, on Avenham Park, in Preston!
I began as just a volunteer handing water, medals, food and a few well dones!!
As the day went on I was told I should do the run and I was so excited because I’ve always wanted to do it however always thought there was an age barrier.
I was up for it and ready to go however there was one problem what would I run in?! I had to rush and get some shorts and trainers from Primark near to where I was and borrow a shirt from the organisation! ?? wow what an unexpected day!!!! ❤️
The run was amazing and I really enjoyed getting muddy and not being the typical stereotype of a Junior Miss! I was so lucky to meet so many determined, positive, happy women standing up to such a horrible disease! This charity really is close to everyone’s hearts and being apart of raising awareness for Cancer Research really did feel great! ❤️
Sunday came and it was time for a busy day meeting the finalists of Miss & Junior Miss Bolton Bury!!! Wooooo I was so excited! I rushed there in the morning ready for a fun filled day! When I first walked in the girls seemed so quiet however as the day went on they all really came out of their shells! ?
We talked about lots of different things during the day: fundraising, bullying, what is beauty?, any concerns the girls had, eco wear and more! It was so exciting?
All the finalists were amazing and I am ever so excited for their final in July and there was some familiar faces too! Good luck girls! ❤️
Huge hugs & luvs, Elli, your Junior Miss Preston 2016!! Xxxx
