Miss Preston, Steph Leeson, will return to the Ribble Ride and Stride event in May!
Sunday 3rd May is the return of Ribble Ride and Stride in Preston, some of you may remember me taking part in this event last year. Paul and I cycled the 21-mile guild wheel in aid of the Miss World Charity – Beauty With a purpose & St Catherine’s Hospice.
This year I have decided to do more than just take part, I will be helping to promote this Preston event. After completing it last year, I couldn’t wait to take part again and was over the moon when Richard from the Rotary Club of South Ribble got in touch with me.
This year I am hoping the Miss Preston 2015 finalists & the new Miss Preston, (whoever the lucky winner will be), will join me in taking part in the event and have just as much fun completing the event as I did. It was the first time I had cycled in a long time and couldn’t believe the route around Preston. Preston definitely has some hidden gems!
The event is open to everyone and friends and family can take part no matter what age. There will be three events starting in Miller Park in Preston these are;
– a 3.5 mile family walk from Miller Park
– a 9 mile walk around Penwortham Boundary
– a 21 mile cycle ride aound the Guild Wheel
You can arrive to take part on Sunday 3rd May 10:00am – 1.00pm. I would recommend the cycle ride, and can’t wait to complete it again!
You can find out more by visiting https://www.rideorstride.org.uk/
It would be great to see some of you there! You can always make it fun and complete it in fancy dress. The event is all for a good cause and I can assure you it is a great workout on the legs!
Stay tuned for more news, I am contacting the Lancashire Evening Post this week.
Speak to you soon!
Love Steph xxxx
