SEED – Support and Education for Eating Disorders.
I had an amazing night attending the S.E.E.D fashion show held at Evoque in Preston. The S.E.E.D charity (Support and Education for Eating Disorders) is a registered charity based in Preston and was founded in 2007 to provide a network of support for sufferers of eating/food/weight related issues and their family members, carers and friends.
I was attending the event to model some of the gorgeous outfits however within a couple of hours to go before the show started Mark, my amazing manager and all of Miss England North West girls manager, had been stuck in traffic for 4 hours.
The motorway that Mark was getting to Preston on had been closed and wouldn’t be re-opening for another 2 hours. It was my turn to step up and do something different; I was to be the replacement host.
Straight after confirming that I would be the new host of the show, I made sure I had a good read through the script. I had never done anything like this before and the last time I was on a stage was at the Miss England Semi finals 6 months ago.
I was extremely nervous, but I knew I had to be confident and give it my best shot. I think it is important to try new things and step out your comfort zone to gain new experiences.
There are many girls that come into the Miss England process to try something new or to gain confidence &I think this is brilliant!
There were plenty of raffle prizes and an auction during the evening, which helped raise lots of money for this great charity! It was great to see the community get together to help raise awareness.
There was also the SEED calendar being sold that night, I was surprised to see my face featured on the front of it! I couldn’t believe it, but it’s definitely a nice surprise. The outfits looked gorgeous and I can’t wait to go to the show again next year.
See you next time!
Steph – Miss Preston.
